The Peace of Mind Plan (& Why We Recommend It)

We want to make sure that our customers are getting the best service, for the best possible price on their fine jewelry. No matter how careful you are with your jewelry, it’ll require maintenance and repairs over time to keep it looking as gorgeous as it did when you first bought it. We created the Peace of Mind plan for jewelry bought from Necker’s Jewelers with this in mind.

What Is the Peace of Mind Plan?

The Peace of Mind Plan is a service and repair plan for your jewelry that you can purchase from Necker’s Jewelers. This plan is valid for 5 years on all jewelry except for watches, which are covered under this plan for 2 years. Whenever you buy fine jewelry from one of our stores, we’ll ask if you want to add the Peace of Mind Plan to your purchase.

Benefits of the Peace of Mind Plan

This plan includes 16 benefits:

1. Free ring sizing (up to two finger sizes larger)
2. Free tightening of any gem in the setting
3. Free retipping or smoothing of prongs to prevent snagging
4. Free refinishing or polishing, and rhodium plating
5. Free bridal set soldering
6. Free replacement of lost, broken, or chipped diamonds or gemstones
7. Appraisals (for insurance or estate purposes) for jewelry purchased, provided at a discounted rate
8. One free jar of jewelry cleaner per year
9. Free clasp replacements on gold chains and bracelets
10. Free chain or bracelet soldering
11. Free polish cloths
12. Free earring repair and back replacement on covered earrings (up to one per year)
13. 30-day full value exchange privilege on any unaltered jewelry purchase
14. Free restringing of pearl strands
15. Two year free watch repair of broken bands, broken crystals, and battery replacement
16. Free gift certificate for the full price of your specific Peace of Mind plan, which you can apply to a new jewelry purchase

Please note that the Peace of Mind Plan does not cover jewelry that is partially or completely lost. This plan also doesn’t replace insurance coverage. For this reason, we recommend the Peace of Mind Plan in addition to insuring your jewelry.

How Do I Know if the Peace of Mind Plan Is Right for Me?

We recommend this plan for every piece of fine jewelry as servicing and repairing jewelry can quickly get expensive.

Without the Peace of Mind Plan, the average costs of repairs that your jewelry may require include:

• Refinishing or polishing: $18-175

• Bridal set soldering: $30-165
• Clasp replacement (chains and bracelets): $23-425

While we recommend this plan for all fine jewelry bought at Necker’s Jewelers, it’s especially helpful to have it on jewelry with diamonds or other gemstones, as the plan covers lost gemstones, as well as white gold jewelry, which will need to be replated with rhodium overtime to make sure the gold stays bright white.

How Much Does the Plan Cost?

The price of this plan depends on the cost of the piece of jewelry you purchased.

Please note that we do not offer this plan for pieces of jewelry whose retail price is more than $15,000.

How to Use Your Plan

Once you’ve purchased the Peace of Mind Plan, you must bring your piece of jewelry in once a year for an annual inspection to keep the plan valid.

When you need your jewelry repaired or serviced, bring it into our store in either DeWitt or Davenport, IA and a sales associate will be happy to assist you. Please bring in your Peace of Mind Plan paperwork, the item covered by the plan, and the original sales receipt. If you live far away or cannot make it to Necker’s Jewelers to drop off your item, please call the store and ask to speak to one of our managers. They’ll be able to give you instructions on where and how to send in your jewelry for service.

After purchasing your Peace of Mind Plan, the same amount of money you spent on the plan is converted into a one-time-use coupon that can be used to purchase a new piece of jewelry. Below outlines the coupon’s value and how it can be applied to future in-store jewelry purchases.

The coupon you receive after purchasing your Peace of Mind Plan doesn’t expire. However, it can’t be combined and used with any other coupons, offers, discounts, or promotions. It also can’t be used to purchase any jewelry during Necker’s Jewelers’ annual Half-Off Sale.
